TINEKE POSTMA QUINTET FEAT. FREDERIK KÖSTER

The Tineke Postma Quartet celebrates its 10th anniversary with the excellent German trumpeter Frederik Köster. Lyrical jazz, with elements of South American classical music and poetry.

The close-knit quartet of the internationally renowned saxophonist Tineke Postma celebrates it 10th anniversary with a special guest: trumpeter Frederik Köster, a contemporary of Tineke Postma with a similarly lyrical and imaginative style. Both of them bring in compositions for this concert, with additional arranged works by, among others, modern classical composer Heitor Villa-Lobos and poet Pablo Neruda.

Highlights of the 10-year career of the Tineke Postma Quartet include the Edison Award for the album Dawn of Light, and the prestigious Buma Boy Edgar Prize for band leader Tineke Postma. The group featuring Marc van Roon, Frans van der Hoeven and Martijn Vink gave memorable performances at North Sea Jazz, Yokohama Jazz Festival and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
