SPOKEN OPUS hosted by Manu van Kersbergen: Djé-Rimo, LOE. and Ozan Aydogan

Uncompromising collaboration by word artists and musicians.

Spoken word, instant composing and jazz come together in SPOKEN OPUS, part of our serie DATSKAT. In collaboration with wordsmith Manu van Kersbergen, each edition we invite a number of wordsmiths and musicians to step onto the stage together, without any rehearsals or pre-arrangements. The first night will be kicked off by Djé-Rimo, LOE. and Ozan Aydogan.

Djé-Rimo

Djé-rimo is a poet and spoken wordsmith. He started his career as a rapper and reached the finals of De Grote Prijs van Nederland in 2016. After finishing his education at the Herman Brood Academy, he definitely made the switch to poetry and spoken word in 2020. Topics that often recur in his stories are discrimination, decolonization and resilience. The poems and spoken word are open, honest and personal. His vision: “When you brave the fear of sharing your story, you will find that you are never the only one.”

LOE.

LOE. is a project by singer Laura de Bruijn. Her music has influences from cabaret and is both dreamy and explosive poetry pop. Through lyrics about hours that are too tight, your head that sometimes feels like a fishbowl and getting lost in love, LOE. takes you into the feelings of a growing young adult.

Ozan Aydogan

Ozan Aydogan is a creator, actor, rapper, writer and poet. He currently stars in the FC Bergman and ITA co-production “The Magic Mountain,” and in 2020 released his debut album Beautiful Beings, a fusion of music, spoken word, theater and rap.

The wordsmiths will be accompied by bass player Kotokid and pianist Ike van Bergen, who is a member of upcoming soul band ParHasard.
