For this DATSKAT WEEKEND we will remove seats and transform our concert hall into a club for a mix of jazz, hip-hop and neo-soul. Friday’s show features two young heroes: Moses Yoofee from Berlin and Bnnyhunna from Amsterdam. Saturday’s show features UK soul by singer Reuben James, and a live set by producers collective .multibeat. Every evening you can dance the night away with a DJ in our café.
Reuben James is emerging as one of the UK’s most interesting voices. Major artists are lining up to collaborate with him, including Stormzy, Sam Smith and Disclosure. Outside of pop music, he has worked with luminaries such as jazz legend Herbie Hancock and classical piano superstar Lang Lang. His tracks have now amassed over 50 million plays across all platforms. His own sound is inspired by vocalists such as Erykah Badu, d’Angelo and Frank Ocean.
.multibeat is a hip-hop trio and producers collective from Utrecht. They mix all kinds of genres while keeping their focus on the beat, inspired by artists like Robert Glasper and contemporary UK Jazz. In 2022 they collaborated with Noflik on the album Toolbox (Inner Ocean Records), followed in 2023 by the collaborative EP A Muddy, What Else? (Wicked Wax Music). They also made tracks with GINGE, Glimlip, Jelisa, Yasper, and Soul Food Horns.
