He’s a star in Ghana and outside of his home country he’s making waves with songs that have appeared on dance compilations and club mixes. Singer King Ayisoba connects contemporary beats and grooves with rousing riffs on the kologo, the traditional two-stringed lute. Like a 21st century shaman, he interweaves the styles and musicians that matter.
In our regions, King Ayisoba is known thanks to Arnold de Boer, singer and guitarist of The Ex, who has previously released music by the Ghanian singer on his label Makkum Records. Zea is also featured on Work Hard, the album by King Ayisoba that appeared earlier this year on Glitterbeat Records. On this release, the singer shows his commitment to his culture and his generation through songs about subjects such as education, women’s rights, and leadership.
For this concert, in addition to Zea, King Ayisoba will be joined by Oscar Jan Hoogland, Ayuune Sule and young super talent Peter Somuah.
King Ayisoba kologo/vocals, Ayuune Sule sinyaaka/kologo/vocals, Peter Somuah trumpet, Oscar Jan Hoogland keyboards, Zea guitar/vocals.
