Master guitarist John Scofield takes an unexpected turn by breathing new life into classic country songs, in collaboration with well-known American jazz musicians.
John Scofield is one of the most popular jazz guitarists of all time and a true musical chameleon. In the early 1980s he played with Miles Davis before launching a successful solo career. In his new project Country for Old Men he performs ‘outlaw country tunes’ in his own unique style, in collaboration with masterful American jazz musicians. They improvise while keeping the character and ‘twang’ of the classics in the extensive repertory, which includes songs by George Jones, Hank Williams and even Shania Twain!
