Ernst Glerum Omnibus: Trio Tribute | Filippo Vignato solo: All About Dreaming

Ode to legendary jazz piano trios, preceded by solo trombone performance.

Ernst Glerum, mainly known as a double bassist, switches to piano in Omnibus. This renewed trio will be preceded by a performance by trombonist Filippo Vignato.

The new album Trio Tribute by Ernst Glerum Omnibus is a tribute to legendary piano trios from jazz history, for example the ones led by Bill Evans, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Abdullah Ibrahim, Misha Mengelberg, Horace Silver, Jaki Byard, and many others. Ernst Glerum is generally known as a bassist, for example in ICP Orchestra and the Benjamin Herman Trio, but he has always been loyal to his true love, the piano. In his renewed Omnibus he plays with Anja Gottberg on double bass and Giacomo Caminetti on drums.

All About Dreaming is a solo trombone performance by Filippo Vignato to adapt and interact with the different acoustic dimensions of the host spaces: an essential and minimalist dialogue with the echoes, reverbs and resonances of the place to be discovered and to be immersed in during the concert for both the performer and the audience. The Italian trombonist has earned a strong reputation as a band leader. He formed a duo with American cellist Hank Roberts and has joined the quintet led by trumpet master Paolo Fresu.
