Ella Zirina Trio | Alice Leggett & Chaerin Im *orchestra*

In this double concert, we give the stage to two young bands coming from Amsterdam’s thriving jazz scene. First of all, the Ella Zirina Trio. Zirina was a Young Maker with us and has made a huge progression since then. Within a year and a half, it is impossible to imagine the Dutch jazz scene without her. She made an an appearance at North Sea Jazz Festival (with Kurt Rosenwinkel and Joey Baron), released her Edison-nominated debut album Intertwined and shared the stage with musicians such as Tineke Postma, Ben van Gelder, Jesse van Ruller, Reinier Baas, Pablo Held and Yuri Honing. Now she performs with her trio, consisting of young Spanish bassist Ton Felices and top drummer Jamie Peet.

The Alice Leggett & Chaerin Im *orchestra* is the joint project of saxophonist Alice Legget and pianist Chaerin Im. They write the music, which is a mix of groove, free improvisation and focused interplay. They performed during our Rough Diamonds series in early June, and now return to our venue.
