Duo Han Bennink & Jelle Roozenburg | Bonsai Panda – Tout Galore 2024

Bonsai Panda is ready to attack our stage, preceded by duo improvisations featuring Bonsai Panda guitarist Jelle Roozenburg and Holland’s most adventurous drummer, Han Bennink.

Han Bennink and Jelle Roozenburg first played together at the invitation of the festival RAUW Rotterdam. This led to a new duo. In April 2023 they recorded a live vinyl record in collaboration with JIN Vinyl Club and Galloway Studio, Live at Galloway Studio on Sound of Niche Records. The duo enters the stage with a clean slate, improvising along, from free improvisations and eccentric interpretations of standards. Expect anything and everything.

With undeniable delusions of grandeur, Bonsai Panda, led by the notorious duo Jelle Roozenburg and Louk Boudesteijn, presents its self-proclaimed best work to date, the spectacular, absurd and surrealistic masterpiece TOUT GALORE. It is their sixth album and it is like a fever dream that is scary, but comforting, and daringly challenging at the same time. Averse of all trends and concessions, the Pandas plot their own future, moving between two opposites: the intimate, cultivated and stylized (Bonsai) and the wild, unconventional and playful (Panda). They call their sound ‘Short Term Memory Music’, music that’s unavoidably taken over by the moment when it’s being performed. Featuring a cast of absolute stars.
