The Conservatorium van Amsterdam is full of top talent. So is the CvA Large Ensemble, which will make its appearance tonight. The ensemble will collaborate with a special guest , vocalist Michael Mayo. The American vocalist is the definition of a super talent, effortlessly switching between the most diverse styles and skills, from neo-soul to bop and from crooning to beatboxing.
Already at his first performance in our hall, with Ben Wendel’s supergroup High Heart, Mayo blew everyone away with his unprecedented vocal control and solo improvisations. His latest album Fly, featuring guest appearances by Nate Smith, Shai Maestro and others, will be released on October 4.
