Rough Diamonds Around Midnights means short, free admissable sets after the regular programme in which you can discover the talents of the Conservatorium of Amsterdam. This edition: the band Chai Masters
The Chai Masters strive to create music that stimulates the imagination. The band interprets the music of Antonio Moreno Glazkov and Aurel Violas, whose compositions are inspired by one of the most unique literary movements of the last century: Magic Realism. The repertoire is a narrative where flamenco, film soundtracks and contemporary jazz intermingle. The six musicians started brewing their music in 2018. Soon enough, merging their backgrounds together, they found a band chemistry and started to refine their sound while performing in the Netherlands. They were finalists of numerous international competitions, and collaborated with renowned Spanish artist Antonio Lizana. Their debut album Magic Realism was released in June 2022 under Challenge Records.
