Brad Mehldau Quartet ft. Jorge Rossy, Joris Roelofs, Clemens van der Feen

The most influential jazz pianist of his generation is back with a new partly Dutch quartet, for three concerts.

Especially for our 50th anniversary, Brad Mehldau has decided to make a connection with the lively Dutch jazz scene. Therefore, in addition to drummer Jorge Rossy, he has invited bass clarinettist Joris Roelofs and double bassist Clemens van der Feen for all three concerts.

Where to begin to describe Brad Mehldau? The American pianist first appeared on our stage more than 20 years ago, and has since emerged as the most influential jazz pianist of recent decades. He was the first one to combine standards with daring interpretations of songs Radiohead, The Beatles and Nirvana, in a way that only he can.

In his performances, Mehldau combines his classical background with his love for catchy melodies and daring experiments. For our 50th anniversary, our venue will be his playground for three nights, in which he will take the stage with a partly Dutch quartet: Joris Roelofs on bass clarinet, Clemens van der Feen on double bass and Jorge Rossy on drums, who was a regular member of the Brad Mehldau Trio from 1994 to 2004.
