DATSKAT WEEKEND

Bnnyhunna & Kuna Maze

Young visionairies balancing between jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul and house.

For this DATSKAT WEEKEND we will remove seats and transform our concert hall into a club for a mix of jazz, hip-hop, house and neo-soul. Friday’s show features two young heroes: Kuna Maze from Brussel and Bnnyhunna from Amsterdam. Saturday’s show features UK soul by singer Reuben James, and a live set by producers collective .multibeat. Every evening you can dance the night away with a DJ in our café.

As a Ghanaian kid from Amsterdam South-East, life came with challenges for Benjamin ‘Bnnyhunna’ Ankomah. He expressed himself through music and learned guitar, drums and, predominantly, keyboards. He earned success as a producer and played with the likes of Rimon, Jose James, Arp Frique and Yung Nnelg. With his own music, Bnnyhunna stimulates all the senses, inspired by artists such as Fela Kuti and Pharrell Williams.

Brussels-based producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Kuna Maze aka Edouard Gilbert produces music that grows between broken beat, house and jazz. He brings club culture and jazz at the center of his universe which show through his debut album Night Shift (2023). His music has garnered support from tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson (BBC 6), Lefto, Soulection and Anz (Radio 1). While producing solo, he will bring a live band to create this perfect mix of jazz club and dance club.
